Title:SAMI029.jpg
Description:Stocksbridge Langley Brook Farm dates back for many years, records show that in 1661 a tenant by the name of John Cauldwell died here. In 1702 the occupant was Jonathan Hadfield who was Deputy Constable of Bradfield. Generations of the Crawshaw family inhabited the farm between 1841 and 1881. A public right of way to Midhopestones runs through the farmyard, apparently Langley Brook ceased to be a working farm following an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in the mid-1930s.
