Description:Stocksbridge Works - Old Tyre Mill Press circa 1925. Here tyres are being shaped around a center die block. In the foreground are L-R Reg Davis Bob Sykes Harold Senior and Mr.Jackson. Local bandsman and singer, George Rees composed a tune for a Christmas Carol which was transcribed for him by his friend J.B.Nichols of Bolsterstone. He named the tune Tyre Mill as he was working there at the time. It is sung locally to this day.
