Title:DAMI007.jpg
Description:Tin mill cottages. We dont have much history about these dwellings but we received an Email from David Broomhead who recalls some of his early memories. I was born in the end house my mother was Dorothy Roebuck and we used to have pigs, the water came from a well near the river and the toilet was a midin, no gas or electric just paraffin lamps. I was born in 1947. I remember living in the house in the picture in the tin mill wood. I have been back to the house but its just a concrete slab but I still remember the house and the well and toilet near the river and I remember walking through the wood with my Uncle Brian and going over the stepping stones. My dads name was Reg Broomhead.
